
Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband, Brandon Blackstock, Has Died

Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and stepson of Reba McEntire, has died of cancer.
Brandon Blackstock, 48, passed away in Montana on August 7, 2025, after battling an unknown illness for the last year.
Blackstock’s family announced the news in a statement, saying:
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

The news comes a day after his ex-wife, Kelly Clarkson, announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency.
Clarkson explained in a social media post that it was necessary to postpone all of her August residency dates in order to be “fully present” with her children due to their father’s illness. Clarkson didn’t share any details about Blackstock’s illness, only that he had been ill for the last year.
Kelly Clarkson was married to Brandon Blackstock from 2013 to 2022. They shared two children: River Rose (11) and Remington Alexander (9).
