Meet Carrie Underwood’s Children, Isaiah and Jacob, and See What They’re Like Today
Country music’s powerhouse may light up the stage, but at home, Carrie Underwood is just “Mom.” Whether she’s belting out “Before He Cheats” or packing lunchboxes, she makes it all look easy. Behind the scenes, Carrie and her husband Mike Fisher are raising two little guys who are shaping up to be as dynamic and charming as their mama. Here’s a look at what Isaiah and Jacob Fisher are like today.
Isaiah Michael Fisher
Born on February 27, 2015, Isaiah was Carrie and Mike’s first real taste of parenthood. According to Carrie, it was a wild but beautiful adjustment. She once admitted they weren’t sure how they’d balance their “crazy” lives with raising a child. But like any parents who jump in headfirst, they made room and made it work.
By four years old, Isaiah had already become a backstage legend during tour life. The crew affectionately called him “The Mayor of Catering” because he loved mingling with everyone. According to Carrie, he’s always been a “people guy,” and it shows. Whether he’s handing out smiles or belting out “Little Drummer Boy” alongside his mom on her Christmas album My Gift, Isaiah’s charm can’t be taught.
He made his studio debut at five years old. Carrie helped coach him through it, watching him proudly take the mic in the booth. When the track dropped, Isaiah was so proud he marched into school, telling everyone, “Hey, my song’s out! Wanna hear it?” Kid’s got confidence and heart.
And it’s not just music that’s in his blood. Isaiah’s picked up his dad’s love for sports too. He made his baseball debut in 2021, and Carrie confessed to being more nervous watching him on the field than she was when Mike was on the ice playing pro hockey. That’s some serious mama pride.
At age seven, Isaiah celebrated with a full Star Wars-themed birthday bash. Carrie’s tribute on Instagram wasn’t just sweet, it was a full-on love letter. She called him wise beyond his years, full of faith, and so generous that he once asked to raise money for other kids instead of getting gifts himself. She summed it up best: “What 7-year-old does that?!”
Now at ten, Isaiah’s starting to notice that his mom isn’t exactly your average parent. Carrie once said he’s “becoming more aware that it’s not normal” when kids at school mention seeing her on TV. But so far, fame hasn’t gone to his head. Halloween costumes like “an old man” and time spent waving at his mom from the audience while his little brother sleeps in their dad’s arms, that’s what keeps it all grounded.
Jacob Bryan Fisher
Jacob came into the world on January 21, 2019, and right away, he was different. Carrie has been open about the heartbreak that came before his arrival. After suffering three miscarriages, she said she had nearly given up hope on growing her family. But Jacob was the baby they’d prayed for, her “miracle baby.”
His name holds weight, too. According to Carrie and Mike’s docuseries, Mike and Carrie: God & Country, Mike had a gut feeling that they’d have another child. He told Carrie, “We’re gonna have another baby, and it’s gonna be a boy, and his name’s gonna be Jacob.” After all they went through, when the doctor finally confirmed everything was OK during her pregnancy, they both knew. This was Jacob.
His name, of Hebrew origin, means “supplanter” or “may God protect,” and Carrie often reflects on how much this little guy represents resilience and answered prayers. At two years old, she posted a tribute saying, “We longed for you. We prayed for you. We walked a long, hard road in order to one day hold you.” She called him silly, strong, and full of music, just like his big brother.
Despite being the younger sibling, Jacob isn’t just tagging along. He’s developed his own personality and has earned the family nickname “Jakey.” While Isaiah may be the more outwardly social one, Jacob’s just as curious and full of spunk. Carrie often shares glimpses of him goofing off, dancing, or sleeping soundly through her concerts with a content little grin on his face.
During the pandemic, Carrie got more uninterrupted time with her boys than ever before. She said it was the longest she’d stayed in one place in her entire career, and that meant she got to really watch Jacob grow. She soaked in every moment, the laughs, the milestones, and even the messes.
Now six, Jacob is still the little surprise they never expected, but can’t imagine life without. He’s been described as joyful and loving, and he’s carved out his own rhythm in a family full of strong personalities. He adores his big brother and shadows him constantly, which has only brought the two closer.
Despite selling out arenas and dominating the charts, Carrie’s never let the spotlight shine brighter than the love she has for her family. Whether she’s planting flowers in her garden or tucking in her boys after a show, she’s still just Mom. Isaiah and Jacob may be growing up with a famous mom and a former NHL dad, but they’re being raised with heart, faith, and a healthy dose of normalcy.
And judging by the kind of kids they’re becoming, it looks like Carrie and Mike are doing just fine.
