A Music Festival In Michigan Has Been Postponed The Same Week It Was Set To Begin

A music festival slated to start this Friday (July 18) in Michigan has been postponed until next year.

Organizers of the “Country Roads Music Festival,” set to take place in Brooklyn, Michigan, has been postponed just days before its scheduled start date.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone The Country Roads Music Festival until 2026,” the festivals website reads. “This wasn’t an easy call, but we truly believe it’s the right one. Our goal has always been to create something meaningful for this community, and we want to give it the time and care it deserves.”

While the organizers didn’t give a clear indication as to why they are cancelling the festival, they said refunds would be issued as soon as possible.

“All tickets will be fully refunded. You don’t need to do a thing, we’ll handle it on our end and make sure that money gets back to you as quickly as possible.”

What Is “Country Roads”?

The show had a number of big names set to take the stage at the festival, including Eric Church and Chris Stapleton.

Leading up to the event, the festival’s Instagram page posted a great deal of exciting updates, including camping information and different activities to do while on the event’s grounds.

“Does it get any better than spending a weekend with your friends and family listening to great music AND camping? Whether you like to tent camp or stay in an RV, we have lots of camping options for you. Don’t miss the bonfire acoustic sessions where many of the bands will hang out and play after the music on the big stage has ended,” the organizers advertised.

Country Roads Replaces Faster Horses Music Festival

In January 2025, the Faster Horses Festival announced it would pause for the 2025 season, stating the goal of making plans “for a bigger and better Faster Horses.”

Just weeks after Faster Horses announced its hiatus, organizers fast-tracked the Country Roads Music Festival.

The Faster Horses festival had drawn both huge crowds and serious scrutiny, especially regarding camping safety after carbon-monoxide incidents in 2021 prompted renewed calls for improved protocols.

“We love our friends at Michigan International Speedway, the community, and all of those all those behind the scenes. While we hope to bring you something in the future, for now we encourage you to keep the community strong and support live music in Michigan!,” the Faster Horses social media account posted at the time.
