Brad Arnold first announced his cancer diagnosis in an Instagram video posted over two months ago.

The lead singer of  3 Doors Down called for “prayer warriors” when he shared his cancer diagnosis. He revealed that he had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

“Got some not so good news for you today… So I’d been sick a couple of weeks ago and then went to the hospital and got checked out and had actually got the diagnosis that I had a clear renal carcinoma that had metastasized into my lung and that’s stage four. And that’s not real good.”

However even in the midst of “not so good news” the singer was preaching a message of hope. He said, “But you know what? We serve a mighty God, and he can over overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really sincerely am not scared of it at all.”

This diagnosis sadly forced him to cancel his upcoming tour dates, to which he apologized to fans before asking for prayer. “I’d love for you to lift me up in prayer, every chance you get, and I think it’s time for me to go listen to ‘It’s Not My Time’ a little bit, right? Thank you guys so much. God loves you. We love you. See you.”

Brad Gives Faith-Filled Health Update

Over the last few months, Brad has only shared a few brief glimpses into his life. He has shared a shoutout to his wife and a sweet photo of himself resting on a beach with his golden retriever.

He has continued to put his faith in God and provided a hope-filled update.

“We were formed with the same breath indeed with the same force that formed all that we’ve ever known , all that is. We were…..YOU WERE formed with the same attention to detail and individuality that were given to the oceans above and the oceans below. Never EVER doubt that YOU have a purpose.”

After sharing the brief message of hope with his followers, he turned the same question of purpose to himself and answered.

He continued, “Well, what is my purpose you ask…..to worship God. Put God first instead of your feelings, even your well being, and watch God’s purpose for your life spring to life.”

He then gave his fans a health update, which seems to be filled with positive news! He shared that he is feeling better every day. In his own words, he said,

“Also, a lot of folks asked how I was doing the other day. I’m doin’ great fam! Almost every day, I feel a little better. Things seem to be going great. Thank you for every prayer you all have prayed. With so much faith behind me and my own faith within me, I have no doubt of the outcome of this fight. God will continue to fight this batter for me……..and God doesn’t fail. I love y’all!”
