Emmy Nominations Revealed, But The Voice Fails To Secure A Nod
For the first time since 2012, NBC’s The Voice did not earn a nomination in the Outstanding Reality Competition Program category at the Emmys.
The nominees for the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were revealed on Tuesday (July 15). The nominees in two categories (Outstanding Reality Competition and Outstanding Talk Series) were the first to be announced on CBS Mornings.
Additional nominees will be revealed at 11:30 AM ET.
A huge shock came when The Voice did not appear among the nominees for Outstanding Reality Competition Program. This year’s nominees include:
- The Amazing Race
- RuPaul’s Drag Race
- Survivor
- Top Chef
- The Traitors
As noted above, this is the first time in 13 years that The Voice has been excluded from the category. It won the award four times—in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Deadline reports that NBC campaigned for Season 27 of The Voice during the Emmys race this year. The season ended in May with the crowning of champion Adam David. It featured coaches Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé.

Season 28 Of The Voice Is Slated To Debut Later This Year – Who Are The Coaches?
Despite its Emmy nomination snub, The Voice is still going strong. Season 28 will kick off this fall with a fan-favorite cast of coaches.
Reigning two-time champion Michael Bublé will return to see if he can claim a third consecutive victory. Another two-time-winning coach, Niall Horan, marks his return to the show for the first time since 2023.
Snoop Dogg and country music queen Reba McEntire also celebrate their return after a single-season break.
An exact premiere date for Season 28 remains pending. But, it seems that day may arrive before we know it.
On July 10, McEntire shared her first photo from the set of Season 28, giving fans hope that filming had already started.
McEntire expressed her excitement about being back with her Voice family. She wrote, “Back in my other Happy Place. I’ve got my game face on and I’m ready to WIN. Just wait til y’all hear the incredible voices of Season 28!“
