Trump Visits Flood Devastation Site In Central Texas
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania visited the Texas Hill Country following the catastrophic flash floods that struck the area over the July 4 weekend.
Trump thanked many of the individuals involved with efforts following the devastating floods, including local officials, first responders and rescue operation units continuing to look for those missing.
The President also named politicians in Texas involved with rescue efforts regarding the flooding, as he sat at a table with the words “Texas Strong” below him.
“This is a tough one,” Trump began. “The First Lady and I are here in Texas to express the love and support, and the anguish of our entire nation in the aftermath of this deadly flood.”
Trump shared about his visit with the families impacted by this terrible tragedy, saying he was encouraged by their resilience.
“We mourn for every single life that was swept away in the flood, and we pray for the families that are left behind,” the president added. “It’s amazing, the incredible spirit from those families.”
The President explained that he was incredibly proud of everyone in Texas, applauding the efforts by local and state authorities.
“I think this has been heroism. This has been incredible. Really, the job you’ve all done,” Trump said. “It’s easy to sit back and say, ‘Oh, what could have happened here or there, maybe we could have done something differently.’ This was a thing … that’s happened before.”

President Trump Works With Texas Officials Following The Flood
President Donald Trump announced soon after the tragedy occurred that his administration was working with State and Local Officials in Texas to help in the aftermath.
During a press conference last weekend, Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed the State Operations Center was at Level II readiness. Texas deployed over 1,300 personnel, nearly 1,000 vehicles, and equipment from more than 15 state agencies to support rescue and recovery efforts.
Abbott also toured Camp Mystic, describing the scene as “horrendously ravaged in ways unlike I’ve seen in any natural disaster.”
“The height the rushing water reached to the top of cabins was shocking. We won’t stop until we find every girl who was in those cabins,” Abbott said.
Abbott said the federal government’s emergency response to the flooding was “the fastest he was aware of.”
“Whenever there’s a disaster or catastrophe, the first thing we focus on is saving lives, prioritizing those lives every minute,” the Governor said. “Every hour counts.”
