Alan Jackson is nearing the end of his Last Call: One More for the Road tour, which he said will be his final one.

He first launched the tour in 2022 with 16 scheduled shows across different cities. Later, he extended the dates, keeping the tour going through May 2025.

Jackson’s decision to step away from live shows came after he revealed that he has been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder for the past decade. The condition affects his motor and sensory nerves, making it harder to perform on stage. The “Chattahoochee” singer said he inherited the disease from his father.

“It’s not going to kill me – it’s not deadly,” Jackson explained during an interview on the TODAY Show. “I know I’m stumbling around onstage, and now I’m having a little trouble balancing even in front of a microphone. I’m just very uncomfortable.

Even while facing health challenges, Jackson has been determined to give his fans a great farewell tour. During a recent concert, the emotion of the moment caught up with him as he performed one of his songs.

Alan Jackson Sheds Tears While Performing At One Of His Last Live Shows

Jackson was performing at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida when he began singing his 2002 hit “Drive.”

“This is a song I wrote quite a few years ago when my daddy passed away,” Jackson said to the crowd.

“I wanted to write a song for him; I didn’t want to write some old crying-dying typical kind of thing, you know? When I started thinking about growing up, all I ever wanted to do was drive something. He taught me all about that. That’s what this song is about.”

It’s no surprise that the song carries a lot of weight for Jackson. As he reached the end, he became visibly emotional, shedding tears and pausing for a moment to collect himself.

A fan who was in attendance shared a video of the touching moment. People flooded the comments with support for him.

“I love him, breaks my heart, that he has to retire and is sick. He’s one of the goat’s!!” one person wrote.

“They just don’t make’em like him anymore!” another fan said.

“Alan Jackson is such a genuinely great Man! His songs have been touching and relating to my life since I was 13 years old. I’m 49 now. He’s the real deal!!” said someone else.
